Lib Dems Pathetic Attempt at Political Point Scoring

The Evening Star was a bit slow off the mark in reporting on Kathy Pollard’s blog post calling for Suffolk’s celebrity chief exec to resign but the article in yesterday’s evening star made some good points.

The Conservative administration said it was wrong for a politician to attack a council officer who was not able to answer back.

and

There is a convention that politicians can attack each other, but shouldn’t attack officers whose roles are to carry out the wishes of politicians – and are apolitical themselves

and

A statement issued on behalf of the cabinet at the county said: “We are all aware that cllr Pollard is engaging in political point-scoring in the run up to the local
elections.
“To do so by criticising council officers – who, as she knows, are prevented by protocol from
answering back – shows up their complete lack of actual policies to move Suffolk forward.”

So it would appear that the Lib Dems are using dirty tactics that we are used to only labour using. Also, their complete lack of actual policies can be seen by the fact that Kathy Pollard got the idea from net surfing political antagonist Ipswich Spy As Ipswich Spy is anonymous they can write whatever they want in the safe knowledge that they will recieve no come back. for Kathy pollard to repaet it, demonstrates poor judgement on her part. Now today Kathy pollard has written another post tittled An ongoing saga of Suffolk folk and Chief Executives where she says

“As Suffolk’s Chief Executive continues to hit the national newspapers I just want to clear up a few things. When the press ring me up about Andrea Hill I answer their questions. The stories about personal coaching, photographs, etc have not come from me.

Some people may feel the phrase about the Chief Executive becoming an object of hate on the streets is too strong. If I have caused offence I apologise. I will just say that there are some very strong views out there. There are many comments which are made to me which I would never repeat. I have also had many messages of support for my stance.”

We know what people are saying but there’s no need to repart the things to score political points.

The Lib Dems are obviously useing the same tactic as Labour. Namely, confusing the electorate by bringing up county issues during borough elections.
