Jobs for the Boys

Ipswich’s Labour council have made former Labour MP Chris Mole a director of Ipswich Buses. along with Labour councillors Peter Gardiner and Harvey Crane,

Story covered with absolute bias by the Morning Evening Star here.

Phil Smart, Transport portfolio-holder, said: “We are pleased to have people with such a wealth of talent and experience as well as a commitment to the future development of public transport in Ipswich.”

What experience these people have in running transport companies I don’t know but feel free to tell me.

The Conservatives and Liberal Democrats should have sold Ipswich Buses. to Go Ahead when they had the chance.

Chris Mole does have some experience as a Transport Minister – a week of it AFTER losing his seat – but three placemen on the board is surely unprecedented.
