Ipswich labour are no doubt delighted that according to a certain report Libraries are back on county’s agenda. How they are going to explain that the locality budget freeze hasn’t saved them would be difficult but some how they’ll claim that they are still under threat.
Ever since it was announced that no libraries would close Labour’s minions at Rosehill Readers have been stirring things up encouraging people to buy pointless ‘Save Suffolk libraries’ t-shirts and coming out with nonsense like
Did you know… …that, contrary to reports in the media, all 44 public libraries in Suffolk are under threat of closure. The Conservative majority in Suffolk Council has a new leader but the cuts to services continue.
The truth is that Ipswich Labour and their socialist allies don’t want library closures. After all if they continue lying to the electorate as they are doing, eventually they are going to be shown up for the self interested liars that they are.
When the Scrutiny Committee met on libraries Though Councillor Liz Harsant and myself attended from Ipswich Conservatives nobody from Ipswich Labour attended. Obviously they didn’t want to attend because they didn’t want to hear the facts. This didn’t stop blogging about it, after all, when the plan is to lie to the electorate, facts are irrelevant.
I went to speak to some of the people protesting out side Suffolk county council on Thursday. These people are not labour minions as you refer to them.they are people who work and use the libraries.they realise the important role they play in the community and feel they have been shut out and kept in the dark as to what is happening.you say you attended the meeting perhaps if you took the time to speak to the people who are protesting you would see for them its not a party political issue.they just want to be engaged in the process and not treated with the lack of respect they have been so far
You are quite right that these protestors are being exploited by Labour minions in that they are opposing a policy that was withdrawn months ago.
