Over the weekend Ipswich Labour were delivering junk mail in Gipping Ward. For some reason their favourite Blogger didn’t get a leaflet posted to him. I don’t know why they didn’t post one in their favorite Blogger’s letter box, because it was obvious that he’d get a copy anyway.
The latest Gipping Ward Rose has the heading of “Thank You” It has the number of votes for David Ellesmere followed by the number of votes for the Conservatives and Lib Dems. This is nonsense because every vote for Ellesmere was in fact a vote for the labour party and he didn’t get anybody personally voting for him. Some of the Conservative votes though were personal votes for the Conservative candidate. I have had nobody say they voted for David Ellsemere because they believed in David Ellesmere, but I have had plenty tell me they voted for me because they believed in me. Some have said things like
My Mother would be turning in her grave but if she knew you she’d understand why I voted Conservative
David says that he appreciates the votes of people he got. It’s written as if they were endorsing him when in fact a lot just voted Labour because they always have.
The leaflet says that the Labour Gipping Team isn’t just around at election time. Have you seen any of them? If you see them, please let me know.

Nobody I know living in Gipping has yet received your thank you leaflet Kevin, have your deliverers let you down? Come to think of it, haven’t seen a thank you leaflet from any Tories anywhere in the town yet. They used to do that sort of thing back in 2004 when they used to win elections. Maybe they’re just running a bit slow this year…
