Ipswich Labour and Economic Development

Ipswich Spy here, reports on the conference for 10 delegates from Nanjing, China, which was not attended by anyone from Ipswich Borough council. The spy blog claims there was a mix up in communications when the reality is more likely to be that Ipswich Labour are not interested in economic development.

Why would Carole Jones attend a conference about economic development as the Ipswich Politburo Holder Against Economic Development? If a delegation had come to Ipswich from North Korea instead of China, the whole membership of Ipswich Labour would have probably attended looking for ideas on how to ruin the borough. But economic development isn’t of much interest to them.

China achieved economic growth by increasing carbon emissions. On this video the fact is stated that economic growth has never been achieved by any country without a rise carbon emissions. Though the Westgate Waffler believes economic growth can be achieved by cutting carbon emissions.

here and here we get a taste of what is going to be submitted at the next full council meeting.

This economic development strategy will focus on job creation and retention, as well as
promoting and attracting investment to Ipswich, reflecting core aims in the Council’s
Corporate Plan – ‘Building A Better Ipswich1

Does this mean they are creating non-jobs at IBC?

“Ipswich will be an inspiring and exciting town perceived as both an attractive location for
investment in business and a centre of excellence for education. Creative people in
partnership with dynamic businesses will drive a diverse and innovative urban economy”

It’s just waffle but the best bit comes afterwards.

“A sustainable and low carbon Ipswich will enable individuals to flourish, and inhabitants will
be notable for their enterprise, ambition, creativity and pride in their town”

Ipswich Labour claim they can achieve economic growth by cutting carbon emissions and as I have stated above, history does not support their claim. Inhabitants will be notable for their enterprise, ambition, creativity and pride in their town? A sustainable and low carbon Ipswich will enable individuals to flourish?
