“The information shall be available when the planning application has been put in.”
Yesterday at Belstead Village Hall was the Belstead Parish Council meeting and PfR were there to talk and answer questions. Only one Borough Councillor showed up. The only decent councillor in the whole of South West Ipswich in fact. Conservative Councillor, Nadia Cenci.
We were informed that the planning application will be going in towards the spring of 2013. PfR shall have surgeries after Christmas and their shall be a photo montage for the public to view. Also when the planning application goes in there shall be an environmental statement.
We were informed that PfR shall also offer a ‘ community benefit’ as a developer. £12.5 thousand per annum. And it shall be talked about in more detail after the planning application has been put in. The Chairman of Belstead Parish Council pointed out that for the whole area affected it amounted to £2.50 per house.
We were also told that information on ecological effects shall be available when the planning application has been put in. Also information on noise and flicker shall be available when the planning application has been put in. Also information on the effects on footpaths and rights of way shall be available when the planning application has been put in.
We were quoted reports and someone pointed out that the reports were pre 1997 and 1998 and irrelevant.
Someone suggested PfR offering an indemnity payment if they believed house prices were not detrimentally effected.
We were told they want to avoid another Kessingland completely if possible. Don’t build them then!
Concerning property values, we were quoted from a report that said different to what we all knew and someone pointed out that the report was from 2007 and five years out of date.
Someone asked if data will be offered and we were informed that a local deposit version shall be at Belstead Village Hall and at Babergh District Council offices in Hadleigh and on a website. There was nothing about a copy being anywhere in South West Ipswich so if we’re not on line we’ll have to diddle to Belstead or Hadleigh for a look.
Someone asked what PfR’s track record is and we were informed that at present they have no wind turbines in operation and they were not IBC’s first choice.
Someone asked if they were going to monitor the local noise levels when the road surface of the A14 was done and we were informed that it will happen when the planning application has been put in.
Someone asked if any of them lived near wind turbines and we were informed that the allusive Alice lives near them but she was not there.
To sum up then, they came and said nothing.
