50th Human Traficking Survivor welcomed at Unseen UK safe-house

It’s a milestone Unseen UK are proud to have achieved with help:

Unseen recently welcomed the 50th survivor through its doors. In just two years they’ve given 50 women the support they’ve needed to recover from their trafficking experiences and rebuild their lives. Survivors such as Silvy who recently said that:

“Unseen has given me a new life by helping me forget the past and continue on to my future”.

But it’s also sad there’s still
such a demand for Unseen’s services. Serious Organised Crime Agency figures show a 71% increase in victims between January and March 2012, compared to the same period in 2011. It’s hard to know if frontline staff are more confident in identifying victims, or if there is an increase in trafficking in the UK. Either way, Unseen will continue to provide expert support where it’s needed.
