Yesterday Waveney District Council had their budget meeting. The ruling Conservative group put forward a budget that froze council tax. The Labour group brought forward a number of amendments. Most of the Labour amendments to the budget were carried including one about paying employees the living wage to put local people off working in the private sector. But the Labour group still left upset because the one amendment that was lost was the one that they really wanted to carry. It was the one to put up council tax so that people don’t feel better off, so they could blame the government on the doorstep.
Labour love spending other people’s money. Hence they love raising council tax.
