Attempted robbery in Alderman Road, Ipswich

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the Alderman Park/ Alderman Road area of Ipswich in the early hours of this morning to come forward after a 19-year-old woman reported that three males had attempted to rob her.

Officers were contacted around 9am this morning, Tuesday 12 May, about the incident that is believed to have happened around 1.50am today.

The 19-year-old reported that she had been on a park bench when three males – one around 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build and wearing a dark hooded top, one around 5ft 5ins tall, of large build and also wearing a dark hooded top and the third around 5ft 3ins tall, of slim build, wearing red trainers with a white Nike tick on – approached her.

They demanded she hand over cash and threatened her, but she had no money on her, and moments later the males were disturbed by a member of the public, who was walking along a path a short distance away, and they fled.

Police would like to speak to that member of the public and anyone else who may have been in the area around this time, or anyone who may have information about who the three males are.
