Since Ipswich Labour’s message was soundly rejected by the electorate, Ipswich Labour have continued to speak it.
First of all, the defeated Labour candidate who leads the council claimed that the Tories’ housing bill is set to fail. On reading the article we see Ipswich Labour’s rejected ideology coming through. Ipswich Labour hate private ownership and want us all to live in local authority owned accommodation. The only homes they want to be privately owned are the ones they live in.
After this the defeated Labour candidate who leads the council wrote an article titled ‘cash strapped councils turning off their CCTV camera networks’ This also shows Ipswich Labour’s rejected ideology coming through. Socialists want to know everybody else’s business. They believe in a nanny state keeping an eye on everybody to keep them in line. It is cleverly portrayed as though they want to keep an eye on us all to look after us, but the reality is that they want to keep an eye on us in case any of us are subversive and reject their way of interfering in people’s lives.
Also knowing everyone’s business can be used for electoral purposes. If they know somebody is on benefits they can tell them that they have to vote Labour to keep their benefits and if they know where their parents live in another part of the country they can tell them that a Labour government would benefit the area their parents live in and name it. We have heard reports of Ipswich Labour activists employing such tactics during the election campaign.
Ironically the party that likes to know everyone’s business is completely out of touch with the public. If they were in touch with the public, they would have seen the possibility of a Conservative majority coming, but instead the Labour candidate arrogantly said that he would win by a four figure majority. As it happened it was Conservative candidate, Ben Gummer who won by a four figure majority and not David Ellesmere the Labour candidate. Labour are so out of touch with the public due to their arrogance that they seriously believe that the public wants price controls, a tax on wealth, anti business policies and the politics of envy governing the country. Well we know the public don’t want any of those things now don’t we? But Labour are so out of touch that they still believe that it is what the public want. Though Ipswich Labour hold firm to their backward ideology, the people of Ipswich don’t want it.
