Norfolk and Suffolk Police support new Slavery Act

Police in Norfolk and Suffolk have welcomed new legislation which could prevent human trafficking in our region.

The Modern Slavery Act, which comes into force today, includes tougher penalties for offenders and new powers for authorities to board vessels at sea.

The police and crime commissioner for Suffolk Tim Passmore said the law would help protect the region’s long and remote coastline.
