Afghan Vetran who guarded the Queen thrown out of council home

The Daily Express reports

Veterans yesterday urged David Cameron to intervene as a former soldier who served in Afghanistan and guarded the Queen faced eviction from his council house.

Mr Streets served in both Kosovo and Afghanistan and escorted the Queen on ceremonial duty, holding the rank of corporal of horse.

But he was discharged on medical grounds last year after being thrown from a horse left him with serious head injuries and a brain tumour.

Dear Councillor Duffin,

I am Emailing you in regard to the imminent eviction of Jamie Streets and his family from temporary accommodation after Cornwall County Council have denied him a permanent home. Mr Streets served in both Kosovo and Afghanistan and escorted the Queen on ceremonial duty, holding the rank of corporal of horse. But he was discharged on medical grounds last year after being thrown from a horse left him with serious head injuries and a brain tumour. His treatment goes against the Military Covenant which was enshrined in law in 2011.

Please do all in your power to stop this eviction

Yours sincerely
