Kay Oakes for Bosmere Division

Kay Oakes lives in Needham Market and has served as a town councillor for 15 years, on three occasions very proudly as Town Mayor.

Kay Oakes is delighted to offer herself as the Conservative candidate for the Bosmere seat on Suffolk County Council. This by election was called as the result of the sad death of Councillor Ann Whybrow. Kay hopes to build on what Ann achieved in her time in office.

As our county continues to fight to get budgets to balance at both the national and local level, it is essential that we continue to focus our efforts on eliminating waste and reducing the cost of public administration.

Kay welcomes economic development in the right place in Suffolk that provides good quality jobs and opportunities for local people. On housing, our focus must be on local needs and we need to lobby hard to get Whitehall to step back from meddling in what should be local decisions.

Following the reduction of police presence, Kay Oakes will work with the police and crime commissioner and Mid Suffolk District Council to provide additional policing to Needham Market and surrounding villages.

Kay will work with the Needham Market Train Station Access For All campaign and Greater Anglia to achieve suitable access for all passengers.

Polling day, this Thursday.
