Since last December we have left the EU.
This Conservative government has kept many manifesto promises.
We have been negotiating our new relationships with the EU and the rest of the world.
We have been putting new legislation including an Immigration Bill through Parliament.
And since March we have been dealing with COVID and its economic, social, educational, cultural and political consequences.
Meanwhile Sturgeon, Sinn Fein and the other separatists have been trying to break up the United Kingdom and put us back in the EU and Kier Starmer has been bending his knee, wondering if he should expel Corbyn and his followers, changing his positions constantly and bringing his immense and forensic powers of retrospective hindsight to the notice of the media.
In the meantime narcisstic snake oil salesman Nigel Farage has been flying off to America, boating in the Channel, making fund raising videos and attacking Priti Patel and Sajid Javid, two Conservative MP’s, in their constituencies. It is of interest that Farage has been attacking migrants and two Asian MP’s in his pursuit of dog whistle politics. I am not saying he is a racist, but the fact that he has gone after Asian MP’s is interesting. Nigel Farage talks about problems but never proposes legally viable solutions as would be expected from a polemicist with has the charisma of a paving slab & the personality of a low grade city metal trader.
Nigel Farage still remains leader of the Brexit Party. Although it no longer has MEP’s and many of its leading members have left.
The Brexit Party isn’t a normal democratic political party with members, democratic structures, elected leaders and candidates or a comprehensive manifesto.
Although registered as a political party it is essentially a Nigel Farage supporters club and a trading name for a private company, The Brexit Party Limited.
It is interesting that the Brexit Party Limited appointed Paul Richard Oakden as a Director on 10th August 2020 to join Nigel Farage and Richard Tice. It is due to file its first set of accounts on 23rd November 2020 for the year ending 31st December 2019. It will be interesting to see how much money it collected from its donors, subscribers and the people who attended the rallies. It will also be interesting to see how the money was spent eg directors’ fees and expenses.
The Brexit Party as such never had any members. Farage and Tice use the limited company to have absolute control of the party and its finances in order to avoid the problems that had been experienced by Farage with the UKIP officers and members.
On Sunday evening after Farage released his video on his visit to Priti Patel’s constituency, he sent out an email attacking Priti Patel and appealing for funds. It’s quite obvious that Farage is exploiting the illegal immigration issue to attack the Conservative Party and raise funds for the Brexit Party.
