Child Defendent on Death Row in Saudi

Ali al Nimr will be 26 years old in 10 days. He was only a child at the time of his supposed ‘crimes’. He should be celebrating his birthday with his family – safe, and at home.

Ali’s supposed ‘crimes’ include participating in protests and “explaining how to give first aid to protesters.” For that, Ali was tortured until he signed a ‘confession’ – and that ‘confession’ was then used against him when he was sentenced to death.

Ali shouldn’t be on death row. Even the Saudi Arabian authorities have announced that child defendants like Ali shouldn’t face a death sentence – yet he remains there.

Send Ali a birthday message here.
